Matt Curry

Matt Curry, originally uploaded by 7teen.

Watermelons, cantalopes, and honey dew have nothing in common with Matthew Curry's work except for the fact that they are all really sweet. Matt resides in DC and besides painting also does some really nice graphic design. Oh and by the way this image is croped a lil different then his painting but still gives you the feel for his work. If i would have tried to fit the whole thing you wouldn t catch any of the detail.

Tim Tomkinson with 2 capital Tees

Tim Tomkinson with 2 capital Tees, originally uploaded by 7teen.

Tim Tomkinson is an illustrator out of Brooklyn. The first time i saw this guys work i didn t like it at all. a week later i looked at it again and thought i was schizo because i couldn't figure out why I didn't like it the first time. Because i loved it the second time, and still do to this day.

Nicholas Di Genova - part duex

Nicholas Di Genova - part duex, originally uploaded by 7teen .

Well Nick is at it again at Le Gallery this month showing with Dalek. The Wacky Doodler on Flickr was kind enough to question Wil Kucey (who i might mention is a hell of a gentleman as well) at Le Gallery for some images of Nicks latest and posted them on her Flickr account. I highly recommend that you go and explore through his wonderfully detailed works. There is also an interesting interview with Nick and Dalek regarding the show and other stuff by Wil of Le Gallery on www.dopefiend.ca under the features section.

Chris Jordan is from Seattle (that city and photography is starting to haunt me), and takes photos of industrial yards and waste facilities. He has been published in the New York times and Smithsonian Magizine. Here is what he has to say about his photography.
"As I explore around our country’s industrial yards and waste facilities, where the accumulated detritus of our consumption is exposed like eroded layers in the Grand Canyon, I find evidence of a slow-motion apocalypse in progress. I am appalled by these scenes, yet also drawn into them with awe and fascination. The immense scale of our consumption can appear desolate, macabre, oddly comical, full of irony, even strangely beautiful; for me its consistent feature is a staggering complexity. Perhaps our vast piles of junk can serve as visual metaphors for the difficult questions that we Americans face as the earth's most voracious resource gluttons."

Ok this one is a lil unusual for me but i dig his landscapes. Eyvind Earle is a illustrator that used to work for disney doing backgrounds and such. I really like his use of color and they're grafically beautiful. Love the big trees and the snow.

Robert "the farmer bob" Hardgrave

Robert "the farmer bob" Hardgrave, originally uploaded by 7teen .

Another lil tid bit from Seattle. I had the fortunate experience of meeting up with Robert while i was out in seattle. We did some drawings and dranks a beer or two and i also got to meet his wife and daughter. Anyways I plan to do an interview with him for this site but in the meantime go and check out farmer bobs farm. He is a highly talented individual and is extremely dedicated to his work. If your in seattle or near seattle go to Kuhlman's (2419 1st Ave in Belltown) and check out his stuff in person, for the web does not do his work justice.

Veggie-Mog

Veggie-Mog, originally uploaded by 7teen.

Bio Diesel + Unimog = the coolest thing ever. I ve been waiting for my lil fourbangin chevy prizm to eventually die to try to get a bio diesel vehicle. Meanwhile when i was out in seattle i saw a unimog and fell in love with them again, its been a long time since i have come accross one. Today i was reading up on bio diesel conversions for an 82 chevy chevette and made the connection that there are diesel unimogs. So that means that it is possible to do a Biodiesel unimog. The most enviromentally friendly land crusher (even though i like to be as enviromentally friendly as possible i have a HUGE guilty pleasure for off roading and 4x4ing. I dont 4x4 right now but would love to be). Anyways here are a couple of good websites to check out regarding biodiesel.
